What better way to begin studying the amazing, talented artist Jackson Pollock, than by creating a piece of art in his style!?!
In case you don’t know, Jackson Pollock was an American artist from the early 20th century who was famous for splatter painting, and eventually became one of the founders of the abstract expressionist movement. This movement was the first to begin independent of Europe and shift the center of the art world from Paris to NYC.
High school art students had an opportunity today to take part in creating a group splatter painting measuring 48” x 120”. The finished works are at the end of the video and will be on display in the hallway across from the junior high gym very soon. (If they ever dry)
