Dear AFC Families,

Community spread of the COVID-19 virus has reduced staffing below appropriate levels. Due to ongoing issues related to the COVID-19 Pandemic, Ashton Franklin Center School District will be implementing an adaptive pause beginning Monday, November 16, returning to in-person learning Monday, November 30.  This adaptive pause plan means that all students will be moved to full remote learning for the duration of this pause.

Remote learning school days will be Monday, November 16th-Friday, November 20th and Monday, November 23rd-Tuesday, November 24th.  There will be no remote learning on Wednesday, November 25-Friday, November 27th, in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Students who attend Whiteside Area Career Center will attend as normal during AFC’s adaptive pause.  The WACC bus will leave and return at normal times and students will not have AFC classes afterwards.

Please review the adaptive pause plans for each respective school, as shared below:

Lunches are available to all students at no cost during this adaptive pause.  Please sign up here if you’d like lunches available for your child(ren).

We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause families and we hope that everyone stays safe and healthy.  Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns,

Best Regards,

Michael Lindy, Superintendent
