Dear AFC Families,

I have received a few questions regarding the mask mandate and the district's decision to follow the state directive. Below you will find a link to a letter that I received from the state superintendent of schools, Dr. Carmen Ayala.  The letter describes the potential consequence of the loss of state "recognition" for the school. district. While that may not sound significant, it is.  A loss of state recognition would mean the loss of all state and federal funds (potentially $1.5 million per year), inability to participate in IHSA athletics and activities, and the loss of recognition of students diplomas and transcripts among other potential consequences.

As always, please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Warmest Regards,

Michael Lindy, Superintendent

AFC #275 Schools
