Thursday May 4th, 8th grade students toured Whiteside Area Career Center. Many of our AFC juniors and seniors that attend WACC presented to both AFC 8th grade students and other schools from the Whiteside area.

There has been a lunch menu change at the elementary school for Monday, May 8th. We will now be serving: turkey and cheese sandwiches, baby carrots, salad, fruit, and white or chocolate milk.
Tonight is senior night for softball and baseball. Both will be introduced with their parents at their respective fields before the start of the games, which is 4:30. The baseball team is also playing for a share of the conference championship! It's a beautiful day! Come out and support your Lady Raiders and Raiders!

Raider of the Week 5/3/23: Congratulations to Brock Lehman for being named this week's Raider of the Week for Baseball. Brock hit a 3 run home run (his first) in Polo to get the scoring started. Had 2 doubles in the other polo game to drive in 3 RBIs.
Stats for the week:
.364 AVG, .417 OBP, .818 SLG. 6 RBIs, 2 doubles, and a home run.
Brock is the son of Tammy and Tom Lehmean.

🎓Attention Graduates 🎓
Last week, twenty nine AFC students attended Manufacturing Day. They toured Crest Foods and Bonnell Industries, as well as participating in manufacturing competitions at Sauk Valley Community College. They learned about local manufacturing jobs and products made in the Sauk Valley area.

NHS sponsored a Career Day for the High School students. We had representatives from Com Ed, the Healthcare field, a Pharmacist, an Entrepreneur, a College Professor and a Farmer.
