The 8-1 Ag class simulated natural resource availability while "fishing" using different scenarios. Some students had plenty of fish with no restrictions, and others dealt with "oil spills", "hurricanes" and "over-fishing." Could they last another season, feeding their family or would the fish run out? Students then had to come up with rules they would use to help maintain the population of available fish for future generations.

The 8-1 class has been testing fabrics for comfort, resistance to wear, insulating/breathability, moisture-wicking with a variety of tests and today they got to watch a flammability demonstration. Mrs. Viall tested cotton, linen, leather, hemp, silk, and wool for the students to evaluate. They talked about why our shop fire blankets are made out of wool and not cotton or silk and why we wear certain clothes in the shop and not others, along with why we have a variety of fabrics that we use.

Join us, next Wednesday as we celebrate our Raiders.
