On Saturday, members of the high school scholastic bowl team traveled to Rockford to compete in the Stateline Quiz Bowl. This is the third year that AFC participated in this televised tournament and the Raiders took on Dakota in the first round. Our episode will be aired on November 23rd and/or 24th on WTVO or FOX 39. Tune in to see if the Raiders move on to round 2!

The 8th-grade class went to SVCC today for the Pathway Playground Event, where students from area schools met with over 80 businesses. Students engaged in hands-on activities, asked questions, and got to learn more about different careers.

Due to unforeseen issues with the water supply at AFC Elementary School, we have decided to cancel school for the remainder of the day (Thursday, October 3, 2024).
Students who are unable to be picked up will be transported to the Jr/Sr High School beginning at 10:30. Lunch service will be provided to them at the Jr/Sr High School. For students who are not picked up this morning, we will resume normal dismissal procedures at the regular dismissal time. Students who are normally pick-up or walk home will be shuttled back to the Elementary School for dismissal. Bus students will be transported home on their regular route.
Parents/guardians may pick their students up at the Jr/Sr High School. Individuals picking up students at the Jr/Sr High School should use the Athletic Entrance (Door 16). If the individual picking up your child is not listed in Skyward, we will need you to inform Katie Wolf by calling AFC Elementary School. That individual will need to provide photo identification at the time of pick-up. Our staff will remain on the premises to ensure all students are under supervision until they are safely picked up or transported home.

The YMCA After School Program is canceled.
The K/1 Field Trip is NOT canceled.
