Parents of Kinders, First and Second Graders: Don't forget to find a paint shirt for your child when organizing back to school supplies. Mrs. Coffman's favorite kind is a long sleeve t-shirt that is a size or two too big for the child--an older siblings hand-me-downs work great for this! Kids can usually get these on and off without help and there are absolutely no buttons or finicky velcro to deal with! This saves precious art-making time! FYI, if a child does not have a paint shirt--they paint anyway!
Please have paint shirts by 8/21. Questions: lcoffman@afcschools.net.

SVCC Student Spotlight: AFC’s Jack Delhotal shares about his experience in the Impact program. We are proud of you, Jack! Keep leading! #RaiderWay
*From SVCC Impact Program*
The Impact Program would like to introduce our first Student Spotlight- Jack Delhotal! Here are some questions we asked Jack.
What is the best part about volunteering?
-My favorite part about volunteering is serving and helping my community to make it better. Because I have pride in my community, volunteering is a great way to support and give back.
What have you learned throughout the Impact Program?
-When I volunteered at the Kitchen Table, I saw the immediate effect volunteering can have on the community. It allowed people to have a healthy and balanced meal at a price they could afford.
What would you tell other students about your experience with the Impact Program?
-What I would tell other students about the Impact Program is that it is a great educational opportunity because you get two years’ of paid college in return for volunteering and making your community better.
What are your current ideas for a career path or college major?
-I would like to go into Ag Business and work in agricultural finance.
What organizations have you volunteered with so far?
-I’ve volunteered with many organizations such as the Kitchen Table (in Rochelle), the Petunia Festival, the Dixon YMCA, the Franklin Grove Library, AFC School District Bitty Ball program, and the Franklin Grove Women’s Club Blood Drive.

Senior year will be here before you know it!! Time to plan your painted parking spaces. This year we will be adding JUNIORS as well.
