This Saturday the Varsity Scholastic Bowl team traveled to East Dubuque to compete in the NUIC conference tournament. AFC went 5-1 on the day and earned 3rd in the tournament (out of 18 schools). In an exciting 3rd place match, the Raiders were tied at half and took the lead on the very last question! An extra congratulations to Ayden Willstead for making the All-Tournament Team. AFC continues competition this week with a home meet on Tuesday and an away meet on Thursday.
Congratulations to our Raider of the week, Kate! Last week, Kate placed 1st in the Section 2 Ag Ed Career Development Event in Oregon. Kate prepared and presented an agricultural education lesson about the agricultural impact of World War II and the Women's Land Army. Kate will be advancing to Districts to compete in February. We are so proud of you Kate, keep up the great work!

As of 8:25 this morning (1/22), we are planning on playing our 8th grade girls basketball game at Kings tonight - 4:30 start. I am in contact with Eastland about Academic Bowl and Boys Basketball. Once I have more information, I will push it out!
This week at AFC (January 22 - January 27)
Last night the AFC JV Academic Team traveled to Pecatonica to participate in a 16 school tournament. For the second year in a row, AFC was the top team in their pool and second overall! The Raiders continue competition next week with matches against Eastland and Amboy.
