Save the date for our high school Crazy Sock Dance (Grades 9-12) on March 18th with dress-up days that week!
The 6th/7th grade girls basketball team plays Forreston tomorrow at 11:00 at Meridian JH in Stillman Valley. If they win, they will play at 2:00. If they lose, they will play at 3:00. Either way, the game will be at Meridian JH.
The 8th grade girls basketball team plays Polo tomorrow at 10:00 at Stillman Valley HS. Their 2nd game will either be at 1:00 at Stillman Valley HS or on Monday at 5:15 at Meridian JH. It will depend on the outcome of their 1st game and the outcome of the Winnebago/Oregon game.

The high school boys basketball banquet will be held Sunday, March 6 at 1:00 in the cafeteria. JV players are to bring a dessert to share. Pop and water as well as plates, napkins, and utensils, will be provided.

Congratulations to the AFC FFA members who participated in Food Science Career Development Event. The high school team of Donivan Myler, Logan O'Brien, Aaron Lester, Leah Cochrane, Ryan Garcia and Madison Holbrook placed 2nd in the section. Donivan was the 1st place individual, Logan placed 6th, Ryan placed 7th, and Aaron placed 9th. In the middle school division, the team of Kate Viall and Brock Yarbrough placed 1st. Kate was the 1st place individual and Brock placed 5th overall. The contest consists of a team problem, where students designed and marketed juice, a math practicum, aroma identification, triangle tests and safety/ HACCP identification. Great job to all the team members involved!! #AFCFFA

Congratulations to Griffin Bushman for advancing in the IHSA 3-Point Showdown. Griffin hit 11 of 15 3-pointers at the regionals last Friday night. He will now shoot this Friday, 3/4 at Pecatonica and try to advance to the state competition. Great job Griffin and good luck on Friday!

Coaches for Fall 2022:
AFC is seeking a 6th grade volleyball coach and a 7th grade volleyball coach for the 2022-2023 school year. Applicants need to have knowledge of volleyball and be able to work with kids. Season runs from early August through the end of September. Interested applicants should email Mrs. Gittleson at tgittleson@afcschools.net.

Registration is now open on the AFC athletic site for high school baseball and softball. If your son/daughter plans on participating in either sport, they need to be registered and an updated physical needs to be on file in the office. Congratulations to the Varsity Academic Bowl team for placing 3rd place in the Masonic Bowl meet on Saturday! The team won a $200 scholastic award from the Masons for their effort! Way to represent!
