Raider of the Week 3/15/23:
Congratulations to Lauren Stone for being named this week's Raider of the Week for Academic Bowl. Lauren Stone was nominated for Raider of the Week for her contributions to the Academic Team. Lauren led her team in scoring for the final week of the season which included two regular season matches and regionals. She was also the 2nd leading scorer on the season for AFC. Lauren is the daughter of Michelle and Josh Stone.

AFC students enrolled in an AG class along with their guardians are invited to the annual FFA Banquet held in the JH Gym on March 15th.
Kate Viall represented AFC Jr/Sr High at the regional spelling bee yesterday. She competed against 30 of the best spellers from Lee, Ogle, and Whiteside counties and made it to the third round! Great job, Kate!

These students competed at the FFA District 1 Proficiencies last night in Geneseo. Each FFA member interviewed in front of a panel about their Supervised Agricultural Experience record book projects. In order to participate, members must win their area at the section level to advance.
A special shout out to Kate Viall, who will be advancing to State Proficiencies as the District I Discovery Star in Placement for her books on hog cooperative, baseball concessions, and doing chicken chores for neighbors.
Also competing were Andrea Buhrow - Star Agribusiness & Ag Processing, Lane Koning - Ag Mechanics Design & Fabrication, Zane Murphy - Ag Mechanics Repair & Maintenance, Logan O'Brien - Swine Production Placement, and Jack Delhotal - Turf Grass Management. #AFCFFA

The 7th grade GBKB team plays Winnebago tomorrow at 9:00 in the Rt. 72 Conference Tournament. The 8th grade will play Forreston at 10:10 in the same tournament. Games will be held at the Blackhawk Center in Oregon. 2nd games in the tournament will depend on how the teams do in their first game.
