We appreciate community partnerships to enhance classroom learning. Mr Smith's Drivers Ed class had Lee County Deputy Seeley in today. Students practiced a traffic stop and were able to ask questions about the rules and expectations. Thank you Officer Seeley for being here today and thank you Mr Smith for ensuring our student drivers are prepared!

Today's safety tip: Listen to your bus driver as they want to get you home safely. Using "inside voices" as a passenger allows the drivers to quickly relay necessary information to passengers.

Ashton-Franklin Center Jr/Sr High School has extra copies of past yearbooks. If you did not have an opportunity to grab one when you were here - dating back to 2004-2005, get yours today! These will be "First come, First serve" so please know filling out the form does not guarantee a copy. While we have 60+ copies of one year, we only have 2 copies of others.
The 2022-2023 yearbook costs $30, all others are free.

Congratulations to our Raiders of the Week - Mallory and Logan! These two have shown incredible leadership and work ethic both on and off the court/field. School Bus Safety Tip of the day: Student drivers - turn your headlights on when driving in the fog. This is helpful to Bus drivers as they work to get you home safely in all weather conditions.

Today's safety tip: The school vans do not have a stop arm or stop sign to signal for student safety. Drivers should take extra caution and ensure any students loading or unloading from school vans are a safe distance before driving around the van.

We are happy to announce this year's first Coffee With Administration is October 25th. We will meet in our newly renovated cafeteria at Ashton-Franklin Center Jr/Sr High in Ashton. This is a time to come together, get to know one another, and share what is happening at AFC. We ask that you park in the south parking lot and enter through the front entrance after the 8:15am bell. We want to thank each and every single one of our drivers that transport AFC students to and from school and school events safely. We asked our bus drivers what safety tips they'd like to share. Today's safety tip was shared by multiple drivers. Students should stay seated until the bus has stopped and the doors have opened. Bus safety features are most effective when students are seated and facing forward.

🚨REMINDER 🚨This Wednesday & Thursday AFC Jr/Sr High School will dismiss at 2:15pm and AFC Elementary School will dismiss at 2:30pm.
Please note that Wednesday will NOT be our regularly scheduled 1:15pm & 1:30pm dismissals. Instead they will be 2:15pm & 2:30pm to accommodate Parent Teacher conferences.
Parent Teacher conferences may be scheduled on your Skyward parent portal for the evening of 10/18 Wednesday & 10/19 Thursday.
There will be no school Friday 10/20.

The AFC FFA is having their annual Farmers Lunch Friday, October 13th. Please let Mallory Henert know if you would like to receive lunch and how many you may need by 1:15pm Wednesday, October 11th. You can call the day of to let them know where you would like them to be delivered. FFA Officers will deliver within a 15 mile radius of the High School. If you are located outside of the radius please make arrangements to have someone pick up your lunches at the ag shop at the high school (611 Western Ave., Ashton).
