Are you ready for the "big game" this Sunday?!?!? No, we aren't talking about the Super Bowl, but the 2nd round of the Stateline Quiz Bowl! If you are watching the Super Bowl, you can actually leave your TV on that station (Fox 39) and catch the Raiders after the Super Bowl (and after The Floor and the news). It should be an exciting match as the Raiders take on the defending champions, Belvidere Bucs! If that time is too late for you, it will also be broadcast earlier on Sunday at 8:30 am on MyNet or WTVO 17 Saturday at 6:30 pm. A YouTube version of the match will be available at a later date.

How would you like some fresh Florida strawberries arriving at your door 48 hours after being picked? Our EF Ireland/Paris traveling students have partnered with the FFA and are selling quarts, half flats, and flats of strawberries for the next two weeks to raise money to help pay for their trip. All money earned by each child will go to pay for their individual account. Quarts are five dollars each, half flats or 4 quarts are $18, and full flats or 8 quarts are $30. Please consider sponsoring one of these kids on their international travel experience. If no one comes to find you contact Laura Coffman at lcoffman@afcschools.net and I will submit an order for you and split it with the travelers. Payment is due at time of order and please make checks payable to AFC FFA. Orders are due February 18 and delivery will be the week of March 3.

On Thursday the JV Scholastic Bowl team traveled to Pecatonica to participate in the annual Pecatonica Tournament. This is the third year in a row that the Raiders were undefeated in the tournament going 4-0! The first three matches for AFC were extremely close and all came down to the last toss-up question. The Raiders 3rd match proved that even when being down by a lot at halftime that the match is not over and they preserved to come back victorious!

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the JV game will now begin at 6:00pm with varsity to follow.
